Go Comedy! is bringing back The Draft, get ready to play with your new best friends in an exciting long form. This show runs 4 weeks in July, each week two troupes of completely randomized improvisers will perform an also randomly selected long form. The show closes out with a student being drafted from the crowd to do a short set with all the players from that night's show.

Pretty City (Ferndale, MI) We kick things off with a press conference and then spend time exploring the location and its inhabitants via a form that resembles a Harold, a Slacker, or a cross-between the two.
Steamed Hams (Ferndale, MI) Steamed Hams is an improv duo consisting of Shawn Golden and Alex Bergmans, who aim to bring the widest variety of characters with the dimmest variety of wits to explore the newest frontiers of stupidity
Pinky Swear (Detroit, MI) Two women who met midlife, but their souls tell them they have really known each other since elementary school. Will their improv be sentimental? Sexy? Weird? Who knows? What we do know is that it will be a blast.
Fresh Sauce! Fresh Sauce is Go! Comedy's improv jam. It's like improv karaoke! Sign up and get brought up on stage to play any short form game. The host will take good care of you so if it's your first time on stage or your 200th it's a great way to kick off DIF12!!

The Improv Nerds (Detroit, MI) The Improv Nerds are thrilled to return to the Detroit Improv Festival this year! The troupe features The Detroit Creativity Project Youth Advisors and their coaches. When they aren't performing, troupe members also lead youth improv workshops and evaluate the DCP's improv programs. Their local appearances include the Planet Ant Black Box Stage, Detroit Women of Comedy Festival, Michigan Afterschool Conference, and Youth Driven Spaces Conference.
11 Non-Blondes (Ann Arbor, MI) 11 Non-Blondes is the Friday night house team at hear.say brewing+theater in Ann Arbor, MI. They have quickly gained a reputation for their bold and unpredictable style, delivering a mix of short, mid, and long-form improv, adding up to a show that’s never the same twice. The one certainty? Double Clap (Hamtramck, MI) Quick 2 person scenes evolve into a montage or location-based montage featuring diverse characters and relationships.
Turt & Trout (Ferndale, MI) Turt & Trout is an improvised reunion tour that the title characters are stuck doing because they didn't read the fine print of their contract when they were younger. After separating and going in wildly different artistic directions, they must now play the hits the audience loves, despite not liking each other much. Because their memories have become a bit fuzzy, they'll need their fans to help them remember what songs they used to play.

Spitfire (Cinn, OH) Spitfire performs a wide variety of dynamic, fun, high-energy short-form improv games.
Too Much Cognac (NYC, NY and LA, CA) Too Much Cognac is composed of long-time friends and cognac aficionados Raul Maghiar and Trevor Brown, who began performing together in Detroit only to move roughly as far away from each other as is possible in America (NYC and LA, respectively). Local Spot (Baltimore, MD) Local Spot performs a character-driven monoscene that starts slow and grounded using an audience suggestion from a color swatch book and a scene paint, but picks up quickly. The show focuses on interesting character dynamics and frequent entrances and exits, allowing the audience to see how characters interact when they’re alone vs. when they’re with others. Secrets come out, alliances are made and broken, and someone usually falls in love. It’s always a roller coaster!
Quicksand (NYC, NY) James Quesada & Julia Schroeder are a couple IRL (brag) and a seasoned duo on stage (BRAG!). As Quicksand, their blend of improv and clown has been called ‘child-like pure play’ and ‘joyfully absurd’. They have performed in festivals all over the country, including NYC, Detroit, Omaha, Providence, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Baltimore, and Chicago.
